40 days after Easter, Jesus ascended into heaven – but not before telling the disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the fulfillment of a promise from God. 10 days later, the Disciples were together in Jerusalem for a festival called Pentecost and experienced the fulfillment of the promise: the Baptism of the Holy Spirit (you could also call it “the immersion in the Holy Spirit”).
From May 18-May 28, 2023, we invite you to walk with us through the first 2 chapters of the book of Acts. Each day, as we countdown to Pentecost Sunday (May 28, 2023), a different staff member has written a devotional based on the reading for the day. You’ll find a link to the verses for that day, you’ll find a thought from each staff member, and you’ll find different thoughts or challenges connected to the reading.
Pentecost Sunday has a special significance for us at Faith Welland because we celebrate that the Holy Spirit didn’t just do something special 2000 years ago but continues to do remarkable things today! We encourage every believer to ask God for the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, to listen to God’s leading and direction for their life, and to launch out and make an impact for Jesus’ name on the world around them!
